Sharlene Stanford has the humble privilege to work as Legal Counsel for IDignity, a non-profit organization. In this role, she diligently represents clients in obtaining government issued identification documents. She oversees the Immigration cases and assists clients with requesting replacement of original immigration documents from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). She also handles complex cases ranging from name change petitions to delayed birth certificates.
Sharlene is a Florida native born and raised in Orlando. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science from the University of Central Florida and a minor in Legal Studies. She then attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville where she was a member and secretary of the Mock Trial Team, Ambassador for the law school, and served as the Director of Membership for the National Black Law Students Association. She graduated with a Pro Bono Award and was also the recipient of the Best Oral Advocate Award in her legal research course.
Sharlene is an active member of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers and currently serves on their Executive Board as the Young Lawyers Director for this year. She is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, and Public Interest Law Section of the Florida Bar. Outside of work, Sharlene loves serving her community and mentoring both UCF students majoring in Legal Studies and law school students.
She was recently selected as a new member of the Harbor House of Central Florida Young Professionals Board and is involved with the Victim Service of Central Florida’s Young Professional Committee. She is a huge advocate for human rights, civil rights, women’s rights, and social justice. Promoting diversity, inclusion, and equality embodies her personal mission and she is very passionate about helping others. Sharlene loves spending time with her family and is the proud Auntie of her adorable niece Sophia who is 2 and her nephew Sammy who is 8 months old.
